Authentic medal To mothers and widows for courage, endurance, and heroic work is a Soviet Ukrainian award established in 1966 to honour mothers and widows who showed courage, endurance, and heroic work in difficult times, especially during the Great Patriotic War.
The full-size medal, 5.5 cm, weight 25g, has a classic Soviet design characteristic of the awards of that time. It is made of aluminium and bronze alloy and has a round-shaped diameter of 3.2 cm, with the image of symbols reflecting courage and endurance. The obverse side of the medal usually depicts a woman, symbolising a mother or a widow, as well as inscriptions reflecting the essence of the award.
